Welcome Maples on Main to Main St
In trying to find and/or write Rutherfordton's story, we quickly learned that its people are its "Story!" Stories are all around us waiting to be told if we only ask!
Today, we join Alex and Dan as they celebrate the grand opening of their new business!
📍Located at 211 N Main St, Rutherfordton, NC
This is their story, which we want to share with you all:
They moved out of their Florida house several years ago and renovated an RV into a tiny home on wheels 🚐 where they traveled around looking for something better. While traveling through Black Mountain, North Carolina, they met several individuals from Rutherfordton. Our small town caught their attention after they heard about it and decided to visit.
As they wandered through our downtown, the idea 💡 for Maples on Main - Local Cafe was born. They renovated their building into a beautiful, inviting space for all. As you think of Maples of Main, you should think of the Original Familiar, so all your favorites with a little twist. They will be serving breakfast, lunch, and pastries. We got a chance to try some samples the other day, and you won't be disappointed.
“We wanted to bring something to Rutherfordton that doesn’t exist for maybe 100 miles to have something comparable to what we offer, and this town deserves something like this. We choose here! After much looking for where we wanted to build a business, settle down and build a family. Rutherfordton captured us 💙. One of the things that did that was the people of this town that helped bring us here. Since moving here, the town has taken us in, and now almost feels like we are from here. That's why we are making ourselves locals with Maples on Main - Local Cafe.” -Dan and Alex Maples
“Those of you who have not met Alex and Dan yet are missing out on the opportunity to get to know two incredible individuals. Their smiles never fail to brighten our day, as I have met them several times, and they also sit on our RTR board as members. I also don't believe they ever meet a stranger. I am delighted to have two energetic and radiant business owners in our downtown community." - Rebecca Blanton, Executive Director of RTR
